Another crown jewel I recently found that I have a crush on is Find A Grave which allows me to search for and sometimes view a gravesite of interest. I think this is really quite helpful if you are contemplating visiting a gravesite or just have a little curiosity in you. I think a persons' burial site can be a pretty true character indicator in some ways depending on the circumstances and the times when you can pull up the actual text on a tomb is worth it's weight in gold.
As you can see from the photo one of my heroes is buried as one might expect. Again, worthwhile to me but useless to most.
Since it is obvious that I am fascinated with useless data I have no shame in admitting that I also have a slight crush on Who's Alive and Who's Dead. This site is not tacky or morbid as it just lists factual information regarding the death of a popular figure. It list helpful information regarding a person's date of birth, status (For instance it lists all the Rolling Stones, No Keith jokes found here), date of death and how they died, etc. An example:
- Full Name--Robert Edward Crane (Bob Crane)
- Born--7/13/1928
- Status--Dead
- Died--6/29/1978
- Age--49
- Noted For--Actor, Hogan's Heros (Col. Robert Hogan, 1965-1971)
- Cause of Death--Beaten to death (murdered)
Crush might be a little strong but I am a bit drawn to this type of crap. Ok....so crush is not too strong I guess.
