Well it is a bombing or is it not? Listening to the news coverage is like having a blind man cover a tennis match. My thought would be that if there is no news than do not report "possible news", if there are no actual "sources" than do not speak to a "potential source". I will give the networks the benefit of the doubt that they are trying to give people up to the minute information but if you KNOW that you have no information please do not make it up for the sake of filling air time or to compete with another network.
I have been bouncing from CNN to NBC and have a few seperate thoughts.
1. CNN is strictly a re-cap network. They offer no new opinions or refreshing insights for good or bad. They simply repeat what they say 3-4 times especially Wolf Blitzer. At least they do not flat out lie (ala Fox) but for Christ's sake say something or show re-runs.
2. NBC needs to get rid of Katie Couric. She needs to go back and look at tapes of what she used to look and sound like as she is turning into a Sammy Sosa-Like shoadow of herself. She comes across at best as a horrible local news personality or at worst a bad fashionista (ala Paris Hilton, Possible?)
3. If you want to read a good article about the first bombing and a good piece of op-ed check out the following--http://www.guardian.co.uk/terrorism/story/0,12780,1523844,00.html. More to come on Mr. McEwan in the future as well.
4. And finally, any posting should end once a quota of 4 bullet points and 2 uses of the word "ala" has been reached.
Good night London and sleep well.
