Pretty Bugs

So this dude in England looks under some papers and this is what he finds? What papers where they under that you do not notice this frickin thing for god only knows how many days? Ten days worth of newspapers, Pat's papers on Hugo or maybe all the books GW read in college?

It is technically called Scolopendra gigantea. I have to admit that this completely fascinated me a few days ago when the story first popped up and I have not stopped thinking about it since. I'm also the type of person who generally does not like to kill a spider and would rather bring them outside if I have a chance to as I do think that insects are pretty slick and remarkable.

It also led me to a new website which I highly recommend called InsectaCulture.com. This site is not only a great resource for creepy insect information especially if you find one of these bastards but it also has a great store which can only get me in trouble down the road due to my wife's (and most people) dislike of spiders and general insects. I suggest checking out the Arachnids and Butterflies sections in paticular as they have some beautiful framed items.
