As an avid reader myself I am obviously addicted to buying books for my daughter as I am hopeful she will at least pick up one good trait from me minus my shining personality. I recently stumbled upon this fairly new book by Newberry Medal winner Linda sue Park entitled Bee-bim Bop! This book is about the traditional Korean dish and is essentially a recipe set to fun words and great illustrations (Ho Baek Lee).
It is a nice introduction to Korean culture for my half-Korean daughter but at the end of the day is it also just a fun book. A few other notable kids books for those of you with little ones:
- Magic Thinks Big (Elisha Cooper)
- T Is for Terrible (Peter McCarty)
- Mahjong All Day Long (Ginnie Lo)
And of course anything by Dr. Seuss. Jack London also works well for my daughter but to each his own.
