Stick To What You Know

It is amazing to me that people have time in their lives to try to govern or run another's person's life. It boggles my mind that people who have no understanding of a topic speak out against or for that said topic. It fucking irks me that people who have so much shit in their own house decide to travel to a completely alien house and attack it in full.

What has sent me on this tirade is the recent article in Civilta Cattolica (A Jesuit Magazine approved by the Secretary of the Vatican) titled "The Immorality of Professional Boxing" which states that boxing is a "legalized form of attempted murder, in the short or in the long run". It also notes that that fighters who don't die still suffer long-term physical and psychological injuries. The above being noted makes me disclose that I am a Catholic.

This is how they are spending their god-damn time! What about Aids in Africa? What about the Earthquake in Asia this week? What about covering up priests molesting children? What about world poverty? What about the Holy War going on in the Middle-East? Are you telling me that the resources spent on this article about a sport could not have been used better.

Is next month's issue going to discuss the tragedies in automobile racing? What about high school football injuries leading to paralysis? Give me a break and stay the hell out of things that you know nothing about and things that truly should not concern me.

Boxing is a magnificently beautiful sport that has been and will be around forever in one form or another. If anyone wants to discuss this or break it down further I will be happy to do so but right now I am going leave this ramble alone.

(For reference I have only been able to pull up a few tying articles as they list nothing on their site but these quotes are checked 3 times.)
