No 37th Day

After a 36 day holdout the Chicago Bears 1st round selection in the 2005 NFL draft, Cedric Benson, signed with the Bears this weekend. Welcome to the Chicago Bears Mr. Benson. As that jackass from the Chicago Tribune, Steve Rosenbloom, would say "Your table is ready". I am sure that Chicago Bears General Manager, Jerry Angelo, was more than a bit excited to utter the words--"We are happy this process has reached a conclusion and look forward to moving ahead together".

I know a lot of Bears fans are going to give this guy garbage based on his 36-day holdout and the Bears recent history of drafting pathetic running backs but this guy is the real deal. He put up over 1800 rushing yards and 19 rushing TD's in his final year at UT and put up some damn impressive numbers including ZERO turnovers in his three years as the starting running back. Again he played at UT so he played against real competition (I guarantee better than what the Packers defense is going to be this year) . He is a stud and although he will not make us forget #34 he will give us an instant power back with breakaway speed which is something we have desperately needed for years.

While I am sniffing the Superbowl Shuffle glue I will also go on record and state that today the Bears picked the right starting QB in Kyle Orton as he is clearly a pro-player with a decent to bright future on his horizon. And also we free up Chad Hutchinson to purse his true goal...A PHD in astrophysics or pottery.
