Weekend Fight

As I mentioned previously you should try and catch this Saturday's HBO Boxing After Dark (10:30pm EST) as it will feature Calvin Brock vs. Timur Ibragimov and Joel Julio vs. Carlos Quintana from Caesars Palace's in Las Vegas.

In a heavyweight main event showdown, undefeated Calvin Brock (28-0, 22 KOs) takes on fellow undefeated heavyweight Timur Ibragimov (21-0-1, 13 KOs) in a scheduled 12-round battle. The night's opening bout features another pair of undefeated fighters in an eagerly awaited encounter, as welterweight Joel Julio (27-0, 24 KOs) takes on highly ranked challenger Carlos Quintana (22-0, 18 KOs) in a scheduled 12-round contest.

I know that Brock is a promising big puncher with a pretty good defense but that is all I really know about that fight. Julio is supposedly the next big thing in welterweights and might be in line for a title shot in the next 12 months. Not a bad card at all as I expect the Julio vs. Quintana fight to be a good one. All these guys should be around for awhile so it will be nice to see them together before they are fighting on PPV only.
